Congratulations to Nathan Pellissier, who has been awarded 2018 My Sport Live Male Sportsperson of the Year. Nathan is the 2017 Australian Singles Champion in table tennis and was joined by Melissa Tapper, who was awarded the 2018 Deakin Graduate Community Deakin TALENT Female Sportsperson of the Year for her Commonwealth Games gold medal in table tennis.
Whilst the two champions dominated the table tennis scene in 2017 & 2018, coach and club director Simon Gerada was just as impressed with their team leadership and professionalism in and around the club and with their Australian Team members saying “not only do these two champions win the major events local and on the international tours but they bring so many along for the ride and drive other to succeed” following the awards ceremony held on the 1st of August in Southbank.
“Table Tennis has dominated the night, taking out both the top awards of the night in the male and female categories” said Anne King the General Manager of Corporate Services.
